"I Can Too"
The ′I Can Too′ project is the last and most important link in the chain of support Chasdei Lev provides to families in need of assistance.
′Family Budget Management′ and ′Empowerment′ Courses:
The family is an economic unit whose goal is to provide financial security and physical and emotional wellbeing to its members in the present and in the future. Given this, it is vital to manage the family budget as an independent economic unit. Chasdei Lev furnishes the knowledge, tools and methods to this end.
Most family budgets are managed by intuition, a variety of beliefs and values held by family members and by emotions and impulsiveness. The most common result of this kind of management is poor consumer habits that drag the family down into a vicious circle of lack of control and instability. The central GOAL of the project is to offer the families knowledge in management and planning of the family budget, basic tools to shape behavior and to get them motivation to make a change.
The course comprises 8 meetings, 3 hours in length, and is run cooperatively with the Paamonim Association that specializes in rehabilitating families in financial crisis. After the completion of the course the participants are personally coached, one on one, by an expert in family finance to further assist in carrying out all they learned during the course.
Employment Training – In the framework of the ′I Can Too" project the families are given special opportunities to take part in employment training courses that are designed to get them back into the work force as employees in local business and factories. The courses are offered under the auspices of the Chasdei Lev Association.
